Poetry

Poetry is not one of my strongest, but I thought I’d share some that I’ve written.

The Guide

I sit and watch the crimson pool grow with every drop.
I want to mop up and clean, but I can’t, I am stopped.
The one I love cries silent for help,
But I can’t. I cannot help.

She is beautiful, her talent boundless,
Yet this she does not see. She sees only mess.
I want to show her a mirror and scream.
Scream look! Look you are the dream.

The crimson pool now stains her clothes.
Her eyes roll and breathing slows.
My hands are tied. I love you I scream.
I love you! I love you! I love you.
Stop! Hear me please.

I have failed.
Only one charge and I have failed.
She is now just a dirt mound.
The one I love is no longer around.

It’s Gone

It’s over. It’s gone.

You’ve ripped.

You’ve torn.

It’s over. You’re gone.

 We were once friends.

Then it changed.

You’ve ripped.

You’ve torn.

It’s over. You’re gone.

 My eyes were opened.

But the door soon shut.

You’ve ripped.

You’ve torn.

It’s over. You’re gone.

I gave too much.

You gave too little.

You’ve ripped.

You’ve torn.

It’s over. You’re gone.

One day you’ll see.

One day, but not now.

You’ve ripped.

You’ve torn.

It’s over. I’ve gone.

Twisted fairytale

I left my glass slipper at your door waiting for the keys to win your heart.

My pretty dress is torn as I scrub the floor praying that you’ll play the part.

Mermaid tails and fairy wings.

There’s glitter everywhere and in my hair.

Goblins, witches and evil kings will this fantasy ever get me anywhere.

I’ve kissed those frogs that turned to toads.

Sold my soul for an angels voice.

I’ve long travelled long and dusty roads. But I can’t get you to even hear my voice.

Mermaid tails and fairy wings.

There’s glitter everywhere and in my hair.

Goblins, witches and evil kings will this fantasy ever get me anywhere.

I’ve picked up that glass slipper at your door.

I’m taking it back with my heart.

I’m bored now waiting at your door.

I know longer pray for a princes heart.
